The Economic Development Council of Island County is a public/private partnership. We value our committed member investors whose generosity allows us to continue to support business development and retention across Island County.  We refer to EDC members as “member investors” and “investors” reflecting the investment in our mission-driven work.

The Economic Development Council for Island County (EDC)  works to build a stronger economy throughout our region while preserving the unique quality of life we so enjoy. We can’t do this alone. We partner with business, community organizations, local leaders, and elected officials to make a difference.

The EDC works to build a stronger economy throughout our region while preserving the unique quality of life we so enjoy. To do that work, EDC relies on funding through contracts with Island County and the WA Department of Commerce. It also relies heavily on member investor fees and sponsorships from private sector companies and organizations. Along with the funding this provides, private support is an important message when EDC is advocating for businesses, industries, and economic issues.
